George III Painted Demi-Lune Commode, circa 1770

A George III demi-lune commode, the top painted with flowering vines around a central rosette motif and bordered with faux cross-banding. The central door, enclosing a shelf interior, adorned with classical figures within a laurel and ribbon roundel and flanked by two lyres. The commode decorated with ribbon swags throughout, standing on fluted square tapering legs.
